Floyd S. Porch

Rev. Floyd Sol Porch, 82, died Thursday, October 25, 2012 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mr. Porch was born Aug. 20, 1930 in Poplar Bluff. He was retired from the City of Poplar Bluff Municipal Utilities, Water Dept. and was also a General Baptist minister for 50 years. Mr. Porch enjoyed reading his Bible, hunting and fishing.

On April 5, 1950 he married Anna Louise Landis and she preceded him in death on Aug. 5, 1999.

Surviving are four children, Gary Floyd Porch of St. Charles, Mo., Fred Joe Porch of the Philippine Islands, Gina Louise Jones of Owensville, Ind., and Billy Sol Porch of Rochester, N.Y., several grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Costin of Poplar Bluff and Dorothy Davis of McDougal, Ark, one brother, Myron Porch of Ill., and a special friend, Eva Emmons of Poplar Bluff.

His parents, Soloman G. and Minerva Bell (Colver) Porch and three sisters, Mattie Farrell, Opal Foust and Vergie Rupe preceded Mr. Porch in death.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26th at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jim Schremp officiating. Burial will be in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
