Floyd Ray Urich, 72, of Poplar Bluff passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010 at his residence.
Floyd was born March 15, 1938 in Poplar Bluff. Early in his life he was employed at McDonnell Douglas as well as the Poplar Bluff City Police Dept. Floyd then became self-employed in the heavy construction field but was always a cowboy at heart. He was a member of Bluff City United Pentecostal Church.
On Jan. 27, 1960 he married Velda Elledge in Poplar Bluff. She survives.
Survivors include their daughters, Tonya Barbour and husband Kevin of Poplar Bluff, Trena Jette of Ft. Worth, Tex. and Tyra Reeder and husband Mike also of Poplar Bluff; grandchildren, Kevin Barbour, Jr. and wife Traci, Katie Bertrand and husband Adam, Misty Bland and husband Jeff, Casey Jette, Michael Reeder and wife Kriston and Tyler Reeder; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kaylee, Trey and Karr Barbour, Henry Bertrand, Destiny Pack and Logan and Molly Reeder; sisters, Pat Crafford and husband Ed, and Alma Daves all of Poplar Bluff; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents Claude Ray and Myrtie (Starks) Urich and a brother, Austin Urich preceded him in death.
Floyd lived life to the fullest and had a great time doing it. He loved his wife and daughters as well as his cowboy buddies. He will be greatly missed by all that loved and knew him.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bluff City United Pentecostal Church, 501 South C St., in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at the Church with the Rev. Ted Elledge officiating. Burial will be at Brown Chapel Cemetery in Broseley.
