Frances Elizabeth Loyd, 93, of Union, Mo., formerly of Poplar Bluff, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Washington, Mo.
Mrs. Loyd was born Jan. 8, 1920 in Adkins, Ark. She was a member of Oakhill Freewill Baptist Church in Union, Mo. and was a homemaker. Over the years Mrs. Loyd volunteered as an adopted grandmother for Eugene Field School. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, sewing and doing alterations.
On June 8, 1935, she married the Rev. James Leanord Loyd in Adkins, Ark. He preceded her in death on April 12, 1992.
Survivors include five children: Lola C. Ham of St. Charles, Mo., Pat Burton of Conroe, Tex., Wanda Barks of Union, Mo., Johnema Pinkerton of Poplar Bluff and Betty Loyd of Festus, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 24 great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Margie Huff-Wells of Poplar Bluff.
A Memorial Service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Oakhill Freewill Baptist Church in Union, Mo. with Rev. Mike Delashment and Rev. LeRoy Bryant officiating. A graveside service and burial will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Ash Hill Cemetery in Ash Hill, Mo. with Rev. Gary Hancock of Poplar Bluff officiating.
