Francetta Hamlett

Francetta Hamlett, 84, of Poplar Bluff died Friday, July 23, 2010 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Hamlett was born May 22, 1926 in Risco, Mo. She was a member of Fellowship General Baptist Church, and had retired as an assistant vice president and bookkeeper for Commerce Bank in 1994. Mrs. Hamlett enjoyed spending time with her family and being involved in her church.

On Dec. 31, 1945 she married Billy H. Hamlett in Risco. He preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 1995.

Survivors include three children, Wade Hamlett and wife Pam of Hunter, Mo., Joyce Lynn and husband Jeff of Bridgeport, Ill. and Philip Hamlett of Poplar Bluff; three grandchildren, Natalie Andrews and husband Eric, Brett Lynn and wife Gina and Stephanie Klatzke and husband Gary; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Kenneth Hampton of Decatur, Ill. and Jack Hampton of Campbell.

Her parents, John and Effie (Patterson) Hampton and a younger brother, John Hampton also preceded Mrs. Hamlett in death.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Fellowship General Baptist Church (3581 North Westwood Blvd./Hwy 67 North), in Poplar Bluff with the Rev. Byron Beck officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
