Frank LeRoy Carroll, 81, of Harviell, Mo., died Monday, Aug. 4, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Carroll was born Sept. 26, 1932 to the late Robert Frank and Opal Irene Conway Carroll. He graduated from Missouri School of Mines with a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering and from the University of Missouri, Rolla with a Masters Degree in Engineering Management. Mr. Carroll was a member of The First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff and had retired from Missouri Department of Transportation as an Engineer. He was a Registered Professional Engineer (PE) and Professional Land Surveyor (PLS), and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having served as a Peacekeeper. Mr. Carroll also served on the Board of Margaret Harwell Art Museum, Poplar Bluff Transportation Board and Kinsey Cemetery Board. He enjoyed working around the farm and helping others.
On June 19, 1954, he married Jane Hamilton in St. Louis, Mo. She survives of the home. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past June.
Other survivors include two children: Frank Allan Carroll (Melanie), of Kernersville, NC and Janet Louise Carroll of Rolla, Mo.; two grandchildren: Frank Wade Carroll and Olivia Joyce Carroll; a sister, Lucille Hennessy (John) of Poplar Bluff; a nephew, Andrew Shellnut (Ruth), of Longmont, Colo.; and many other nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Chapel with Dr. William Vail officiating. Burial will be at Kinsey Cemetery on V Hwy in Butler County.
