Franklin D. ""Frank"" Hill, 79, of Poplar Bluff passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Mr. Hill was born Jan. 30, 1934 in Mantachie, Miss. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff, where he served as Deacon, Sunday School teacher, and Choir member; and had retired as a Pharmacist from John J. Pershing VA Medial Center. After his retirement, Mr. Hill continued to work part-time at many of the area pharmacies. He was also an active member of the Gideons International; and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Hill enjoyed spending time with his family, church family and friends.
On June 9, 1963, he married Zoetta M. Whitehead in Qulin, Mo. She survives.
Other survivors include three sisters: Joyce J. Young (Willard), of Tuscumbia, Ala., Norma E. Dorroh (Gerald), and Kitty M. Brewer, all of Tupelo, Miss.; a brother, Leonard M. Hill (Mary), also of Tupelo, Miss.; a brother-in-law, Lewis Frazier, of Saltillo, Miss.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
His parents, Leonard and Lorine Cummings Hill, and a sister, Carolyn Frazier preceded Mr. Hill in death.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with Dr. William Vail officiating. Interment with full military honors will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
