Fred Leland Killian

Fred L. Killian, 89, of Bonne Terre, MO, formerly of Poplar Bluff, MO passed away Thursday, June 11, 2020 at his home.

Fred, the son of the late Freeman Edguar and Beulah Fern Hargrove Killian, was born June 26, 1930 in Poplar Bluff. He was of the Baptist faith and was a retired business owner.  He proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force.  During his earlier years Fred enjoyed singing and playing his guitar with different groups, especially on open air nights at radio stations.  His greatest joy was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family members.

He was married to Rose L. Hays on November  23, 1956, in St. Louis.  She preceded him in death on November 12, 2011.

Survivors include three children, Robert M. Scott of Dolittle, MO, Fred A. Killian and his wife Jivonna and Stephen E. Killian all of Bonne Terre; seven grandchildren, Erin, Keri, Alisha, Cassie, Krystal, Nicholas and Dante; ten great-grandchildren, Austin, Hailey, Cailey, Carson, Ciara, Caligh Rose, Emma, Trevor, Devlin and Liddy.

Fred was also preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald Lee Killian and Lindell Freeman Killian and two sisters, Joyce Lavern Killian and Loyce Killian.

The funeral service will begin at 11 am Monday, June 15th at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff with Pastor Charlie Gentry officiating.  Burial with full military honors will follow at Marble Hill Cemetery in Poplar Bluff..
