Freddie Paul Ward

Freddie ""Fred"" Paul Ward, 80, of Poplar Bluff died Monday July 7, 2014 at his residence.

Mr. Ward was born Nov. 6, 1933 in Williamsville, MO to the late Fred Earl and Ruby (Shipton) Ward. He received a BS degree in Industrial Engineering, and had retired from John J. Pershing VA Medical Center. Mr. Ward proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed spending time with his family, working on his farm and tending to his cattle.

On March 4, 1959, he was married to the former Juanita Darst in Ash Grove, MO. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Rebecca Ward of Jackson, MO; two grandchildren: Rachel Finney of Jefferson City, MO and Sam Finney of Jackson, MO; and a brother, Herschel Ward of Wappapello, MO.

A son, Frederick Ward also preceded Mr. Ward in death.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral chapel with Rev. David Stewart officiating. Burial with full funeral honors will be at Rucker Cemetery in Wayne County.
