Frederick Keith Richie, 54, of Poplar Bluff died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Mr. Richie was born June 25, 1957 in Poplar Bluff. He was a member of True Believers Missionary Baptist Church, and was employed as a conductor with Union Pacific Railroad. Mr. Richie enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren, having cookouts, playing cards and helping people.
In 1990, he married Janice Williams. She preceded him in death on 1992.
Survivors include his children, Charmane Richie and fiance Johnny Taylor of Indianapolis, Ind., Tina Youngblood and husband Derrick of Jefferson City, Mo. and Gregory Keith Richie of Poplar Bluff; a special friend, Laura Richie of Poplar Bluff; step-children, Twajuana Davis, Ebony Stigall, Tiffany Robinson and Gordon Davis; grandchildren, Jamaal, Kayla, Kendra, Kendall, Marquis, Cheyenne, Corda, Brandon, MacKenna and Catrionna; and brothers, John Richie of Poplar Bluff, Donald Richie of Colorado Springs, Colo., Glen Richie and wife Beatrice of St. Louis, Mo., Jerry Richie of Kentucky, Perry Richie and wife June of Poplar Bluff, Michael Richie of Colorado Springs, Colo., Howard Richie of Beloit, Wisc., Dale Richie of Poplar Bluff and Larry Richie of Washington, DC.
His parents, John Henry Richie Sr. and Flora Baker Richie, son, John Frederick Richie and sister, Claudette Kenney also preceded Mr. Richie in death.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20th at Mt. Calvary Power House Church of God, 1857 Speedway Dr. in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Carl William officiating and the Rev. Johnny Williams assisting. Burial will be at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
