Frieda Kathleen "Kathy" Comer

January 19, 1945 — April 10, 2015

Frieda Kathleen (Kathy) Comer, 70, of Poplar Bluff was called home to glory by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, April 10, 2015.

Mrs. Comer, the daughter of the late George and Grace Digges, was born January 19, 1945 in Poplar Bluff. She retired from working as a customer service representative at Rowe Furniture for 31 years. After retirement she enjoyed working with children as a volunteer at Lake Road Elementary and later as an aide at First Baptist Preschool, where she was "Grandma" to a lot of precious little ones. She enjoyed visiting with her family, shopping (especially at QVC), and
working outside in her yard. She attended First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff.

On July 14, 1973, she married Lyman Alan Comer. He preceded her in death in May, 2000.

Survivors include two children, Tammy (Richard) Crouse of Poplar Bluff and Michael (Donna) Whitmer, of Hornersville; two grandchildren, Elizabeth (Tim) Taylor, of Cardwell and Andrew Whitmer, of Caruth; one great-grandson, Andrew Taylor, of Cardwell; three sisters, Margaret Worley, Ellen McComb, and Janet(Herman) Knoppe, all of Poplar Bluff; two brothers, Paul (Jayne) Digges and
Steven (Juantia) Digges of Poplar Bluff.

She was also preceded in death by her brothers George Digges, Larry Digges, and Joseph Glenn Digges and sisters, Juanita Collins and Barbara Christian.

A Celebration of Life service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff with Dr. William Vail officiating and Pastor Steve Francis assisting. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to UCAN, 1899 N. Westwood Blvd., PMB #172, Poplar Bluff, MO 63901
