Frieda K. Eads (Street) Dickerson

Frieda K. Dickerson, 90, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. died Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the Greenville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Greenville, Mo.

Mrs. Dickerson was born Jan. 2, 1924 in Lowndes, Mo. to the late William and Rosa Barker Street. She was a member of Twin Oaks Southern Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

During her earlier years Mrs. Dickerson worked as a waitress at the Hickory House Restaurant, as a desk clerk at the Dunn Hotel, and as a desk clerk and bookkeeper at the Tower Motel. She was a member of the Eastern Star, and a lifetime member of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, where she was also a member of the Ritual Team.

Mrs. Dickerson enjoyed spending time with her family, quilting, crocheting, reading, and playing cards. She especially loved to watch the St. Louis Cardinals.

On Oct. 3, 1941, she was married to Wencil Eads, who later preceded her in death. On Dec. 30, 1965, she married Everett Dickerson. He preceded her in death on May 17, 1995.

Survivors include three children: Dale (Millie) Eads of St. Peters, Mo., Michael (Donna) Eads of Wappapello and Mark (Rita) Eads of Poplar Bluff; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Geneva Ball of Ortonville, Mich.

A daughter, Marilyn Yvonne Eads, three sisters, Lucy Barton, Clara Stahl and Ollie Parsons and two brothers, Chester Street and Bill Street also preceded Mrs. Dickerson in death.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff with the funeral service following at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bruce Pittman officiating. Burial will be at New Prospect Cemetery in Wayne County near Silva, Mo.
