Gary Gene Mitchell

Gary Gene Mitchell, 54, of Wappapello, Mo., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015 at his residence.

Mr. Mitchell was born June 24, 1961 in Hayti, Mo. He was of the Baptist faith and had proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force, where he retired. Mr. Mitchell enjoyed boating, hunting, fishing and playing pool.

Survivors include his son, Joshua Mitchell; a special friend, Cheryl Buchheit of Wappapello; a sister, Terricia (David) Mosesso of Jonesboro, Ark.; a brother, Gaylon D. (Wendy Baggett) Mitchell of St. Louis; several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

His father, Lexie Leroy Mitchell, mother, Betty Sue (Herrin) Fielder and stepfather, Claude Fielder and four sisters: Sandra Head, Pat Murrell, Regina Mitchell and Lexie Yvonne Mitchell preceded him in death.

Full military honors will begin at 5 p.m. Friday at the Cotrell Funeral Chapel, 8172 Hwy T, in Wappapello followed by visitation until 7 p.m.

Interment will be at a later date at the Rector Cemetery in Rector, Ark.
