Geary Ray Miller, 61, of Poplar Bluff, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Miller was born Oct. 25, 1951, in Coon Island, Mo. He lived in Poplar Bluff most of his life, and was of the Baptist faith. Now retired, Mr. Miller had worked with heavy equipment, land scrap, and as a farm hand. He was a loving father who enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandkids and animals. Mr. Miller also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and building things.
On July 20, 1991, he married his companion of many years, Linda Treaster. She survives.
Other survivors include 4 sons, Denver Miller and wife, Marga, of Columbia, Ky., Robert Treaster and Kathy, Geary Treaster and wife, Stephanie, and Joseph Miller, all of Poplar Bluff; 4 daughters, Tina Ewing and husband, Keith of Jasper, Ark., and Jacklyn Treaster and Mike, Jennifer Miller, Deatra Faughn and husband, Jerry, all of Poplar Bluff; 6 brothers, Jerry Kearbey, of Ellsinore, Larry Miller and wife, Rita, of Springfield, Fla., Melvin Miller and wife, Kelly, of Advance, and William ""Billy"" Lewis, Lester Knox and wife, Sara, and Earney Knox and Sonya, all of Poplar Bluff; 4 sisters, Carolyn Mansfield and husband, Steve, of Poplar Bluff, Melissa Whitney and husband, Chuck, of Jackson, Linda Jeffries and husband Darrell, of Columbia, and Glenda Allen and Jerry, also of Poplar Bluff; a daughter-in-law, Vickie Treaster, of Poplar Bluff; 30 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
His father, Smithie Columbus Roy Miller, mother, Norma Knox, a son-in-law, Troy Townsend, and a sister-in-law, Gayla Lewis preceded Mr. Miller in death.
A graveside visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday with services following at 11:00 a.m. at Coon Island Cemetery in Butler County with Rev. Keith Frye officiating.
