Geneva Marie Jeffries

Geneva Marie Jeffries, 85, of Poplar Bluff died Monday, Feb. 22, 2010 at The Cedargate Caring Center in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Jeffries was born Oct. 4, 1924 in Butler County. She attended Little Brown Chapel Baptist Church, and was a homemaker. Mrs. Jeffries enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, quilting and playing bingo.

On Oct. 9, 1943 she married C. E. ""Shorty"" Jeffries in Butler County. He preceded her in death on April 1, 1986.

Mrs. Jeffries is survived by her children, Martha Robey and husband Thomas of Poplar Bluff and Jerry Jeffries and wife LuAnn of Naylor; grandchildren, Kim Scott and husband Michael and Tyler Layne and wife Amanda; great-grandchildren, Brandon Scott and Karly Scott; sister, Jean Stroud of Florissant; and brother, George Davis of Poplar Bluff.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Chapel. Burial will be at Marble Hill Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
