Geneva C. Lawson

Geneva ""Neva"" Lawson, 88, of Poplar Bluff went to her heavenly home Saturday, December 6, 2008. She died at the Westwood Hills Healthcare Center. Mrs. Lawson was retired as a machine operator at Florsheim Shoe Factory and also was a cook at the Public School System. She was born January 19, 1920 in Naylor, Mo. to the late Marshall and Gertie (Harris) Johnson. Mrs. Lawson was a member of the First Church of God.
On November 9, 1940 she married Don Lawson in Naylor. He preceded her in death March 18, 1984.
Surviving is one daughter, Carolyn Warren of Poplar Bluff; three sons, Don Lawson of Palm Springs, Calif., Jerry Lawson and wife Mary of Poplar Bluff and Bill Lawson and wife Glenda of Cabot, Ark.; four grandchildren, Bert Warren, Jr., Jim Lawson, Jerry Lawson, Jr. and Holly Farley; two step-grandchildren, Ron Pickard and Kelly Adcock; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Prince of Poplar Bluff, and Shirley Updraff of Florissant; and one brother Aubrey Johnson of Doniphan.
Mrs. Lawson was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be from 1 - 2 p.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the City Cemetery with Rev. Richard Triplett officiating.
