George Russell Reno

George Russell Reno, 85, of Poplar Bluff died Monday, March 1, 2010 at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

Mr. Reno was born July 25, 1924 in Willow Springs. He had retired from the Mississippi River Fuel Co. (Center Point Energy), and was a veteran of the U. S. Army.

On June 3, 1944 he was married to Beatrice Hensley in New Madrid. She preceded him in death on Feb. 21, 2003.

Survivors include two sons, Danny Reno and wife Desma of Jackson and George Franklin Reno and wife Delores of Poplar Bluff; four grandchildren: George Russell Reno, James Franklin Reno, Matthew Allen Reno and Jonathan Martin Reno; four great-grandchildren: Ashley Reno, Amanda Reno, Paige Reno and Trenton Reno; and three brothers: Markey Reno of Caruthersville, Pokey Reno and wife Selma of St. Charles and Richard Reno of Poplar Bluff.

His parents, William Ivan and Ida Lilly (Rader) Reno, three sisters and four brothers preceded Mr. Reno in death.

Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel with Pastor Mark Ramsey officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
