Georgia Belle Fiske (nee Knott) went to be with the LORD on May 17, 2025, at the age of 89 years of life. She passed peacefully leaving behind a family that will miss her very much. A lifelong resident of Poplar Bluff and Butler County, she was born in the home and store her father built on Hwy 53 on March 7, 1936, to Harold J. Knott and Ethel L. Knott (nee Clubb). She lived and raised her family in homes that her father built for the next 54 years.
Georgia met her husband, James Columbus Fiske while working at her father's store and married on March 10, 1952. They were blessed with three daughters, Sandra Jo, Diana Lynn, and Teresa Ann. They remained married for the next 64 years until his passing on September 1, 2016.
Being a dutiful mother, she worked in school kitchens while her children were in school. Then she used her culinary skills at the Sears Youth Center kitchen and eventually became a Youth Counselor. In 1980 she became the director of Northside Senior Citizen Nutrition Center. For the next 20 years, she and Jim (as a volunteer) worked diligently for the Senior Citizens in many endeavors.
Having a strong artistic nature, she used it to create all the clothing her children wore. Then, when at the Nutrition Center, she expanded their ceramic program. She went on to create many artworks that were shared among her family and friends. After a severe stroke, she was unable to paint, so she turned to quilting, producing many more artistic quilts. Her family again was blessed with these.
Georgia was predeceased by her parents; husband; one sister, Katherine Findlay and brother-in-law, Floyd Findlay; one brother William Knott and sister-in-law Rhonda Knott; as well as her beloved daughter, Diana Lynn who passed on July 24, 2016.
Georgia is survived by her remaining daughters, Sandra Jo Landwersiek and much loved son-in- law Fred, and Teresa Bono and much loved son-in-law Robert of Texas; Three granddaughters, Stacy Bono, Ashley Bono, and Kristin Bono and step granddaughter, Hannah Landwersiek, all of Texas; niece, Robin Findlay Kohler and husband Richard of Poplar Bluff; nephews, Michael Knott and wife Cathy Knott of Poplar Bluff and David Knott of unknown address; along with several great and great great nieces and nephews.
