Georgia Lee Johnson

Georgia Lee Johnson, 81, of Poplar Bluff died Friday, July 10, 2009 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Johnson was born Dec. 16, 1927 in Banks, Miss. She was a member of the Miracle Temple Church of God in Christ, and had retired as a hotel/motel housekeeper. Mrs. Johnson enjoyed talking to, feeding and doing for others.

On June 27, 1942 she married Junior Johnson in Caruthersville. He preceded her in death in 1976.

Survivors include 10 children: Lonnie Johnson, of Tampa, Fla., Johnnie Johnson and Frank Johnson, both of Milwaukee, Wisc., Roosevelt Johnson, of Los Angeles, Calif., Ruthie McCain, Ardenia Johnson, Joseph Johnson, James Johnson and David Taylor, all of Poplar Bluff and Rosie Perry also of Tampa, Fla.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 12 noon Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the Chapel with Pastor Gary McCain officiating and Pastor Theodas Sanders assisting.
