Georgia Maxine (Watson) Lourance

Georgia Maxine Lourance, 73, of Sturdivant, Mo., died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011 at her residence.

Mrs. Lourance was born Feb. 1, 1938 in Qulin, Mo. She was a member of Black River Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, and was a homemaker. Mrs. Lourance enjoyed gardening, canning, fishing and traveling.

On June 9, 1956, she married Wilfred Lourance in Hernando, Miss. Mr. Lourance survives of the home.

Other survivors include her daughter, Sheila Manes and husband Robert of Jonesburg, Mo.; three grandchildren, Jeremy Trescott and wife Evelyn, Derek Manes and Corby Manes and wife Nicole; seven great-grandchildren, Denise Trescott, Greg Trescott, Dana Trescott, Kole Manes, Trevor Ratziky, Morgan Manes and Megan Manes; a sister, Rose Stotts and husband Larry of Sturdivant, Mo.; and a brother, Bobby Watson of Ellsinore, Mo.

Mrs. Lourance was preceded in death by her parents, George and Julia (Sederick) Watson, sons, Wilfred Dewayne Lourance and Earl Wade Lourance, sisters, Lucille Nored and Alta Nored and brother, Ellis Wayne ""Rusty"" Watson.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Chapel with Elder Brian Whitlock officiating. Burial will be at Sparkman Cemetery in Butler County.
