Geraldine Kearbey

Geraldine Kearbey, 82, of Poplar Bluff, died Saturday, July 4, 2009 at the Oakdale Care Center. Miss Kearbey was born February 16, 1927 in Hendrickson. She retired from the Gossard Garment Factory. Miss Kearbey was a member of the Cane Creek Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, yard work and watching the hummingbirds.

Surviving are two sisters, Lavern Whalen of Poplar Bluff and Lorene Wood of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Verdis Kearbey of Heber Springs, Ark. and Lyndle Kearbey of Poplar Bluff; and one aunt, Neva Blackwell of Poplar Bluff.

Miss Kearbey was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Iva (Hedspeth) Kearbey, two sisters, Alpha Miller and Charlotte Haney, and two brothers, Eugene Kearbey and Lyle Kearbey.

Visitation will be at 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2009 at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Vernon Kneir and Rev. Catherine Bryant officiating. Burial will be in the Sparkman Cemetery in Butler County.

The family requests memorials may be made to the Sparkman Cemetery.
