Gerard Leo Saracini, Jr., 83, of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011 at Oakdale Care Center in Poplar Bluff.
Mr. Saracini was born Oct. 26, 1927 in Poplar Bluff. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and was a member of Knights of Columbus. Mr. Saracini was former co-owner of Saracini and Breeden Insurance and Real Estate Co., and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, bird hunting and fishing.
In March 1976, he married Patsy Caughman. Mrs. Saracini preceded him in death on Jan. 16, 2001.
Survivors include 3 sons, William J. Saracini and wife Kim of Columbia, Mo., Thomas L. Saracini and wife Lorri of Hot Springs, Ark. and David C. Saracini of Seattle, Wash.; 4 grandchildren, Susan Saracini, James Saracini, Stephen Saracini and Carrie Saracini; 2 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary C. Saracini of Poplar Bluff.
His parents, Gerard L. Sr. and Caroline C. (Baumgardner) Saracini, daughter, Laura A. Saracini, son, George M. Saracini, grandson, Gary Trentleman and brother, Michael J. Saracini also preceded Mr. Saracini in death.
A Prayer Service will begin at 6 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff with visitation following until 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father David Coon officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
