Grace Marie Armes

December 31, 1938 — March 9, 2011

Grace Marie Armes, 72, of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Grace was born Dec. 31, 1938 in Blytheville, Ark. She worked alongside her husband, Ed, at Jim's Shell Service Station before spending more than 20 years as a pharmacy tech at Super D Drug Store in Poplar Bluff where she retired in 2006. Grace and Ed were avid St. Louis Cardinals fans and always enjoyed watching them play, win or lose. Grace loved the Lord and faithfully attended First Church of God in Poplar Bluff as her health permitted. She also had the gift of hospitality and greeted everyone who entered her home with a smile and hug. She loved to host family gatherings at her home, especially during the holidays. Each New Year was celebrated with a ""lucky"" meal of cabbage, black-eyed peas and hog jowl served on a plate with a spray-painted dime taped to the bottom for prosperity. Grace loved spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she was extremely proud of and loved to spoil. She also attended all of their sporting events and school activities.

On Dec. 7, 1955 she married Ed Armes in Poplar Bluff. He survives.

Other survivors include her children, Eddie Armes and wife Lynn, Lisa Armes Parson and husband Albert and LaDona Armes Eason and husband Vance all of Poplar Bluff; grandchildren, Lance and Wendy Parson, Austin and Jessica Armes, Camille Armes, Jordan, Cody and Kaden Eason and Jessica Carter Ribbing all of Poplar Bluff and Brittney Parson McNiell and husband Jeff of Houston, Mo.; great-grandchildren, Trenton Hodge, Adyson Parson, Abigail Wilson, Lillian Wilson, Cristian Acevado and Dravin Ribbing all of Poplar Bluff, Gracyn McNiell and Landrum McNiell both of Houston, Mo. and soon to be Jaycee Armes of Poplar Bluff; brother, Jim Prichard and wife Martha of Nebraska, in-laws, Fred Armes, Bob and Marge Armes and Tom and Pat Armes and Linda Davidson and Kathy Armes all of Poplar Bluff and Don and Pat Battig of St. Louis; and several nieces, nephews and a multitude of other family members and friends.

Her parents, Herman and Sue Prichard and in-laws, Toots Armes, Larry Armes and Jack Armes preceded Mrs. Armes in death.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
