Gulielma Gula Shulse

Gulielma ""Gula"" Geraldine Shulse, 99, of Poplar Bluff, formerly of Ellington, Mo., passed away, Monday, Oct. 21, 2014 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Shulse was born June 2, 1915 in Decatur, Nebr., to the late Nicholas M. and Maude Allen Farrcn. She was a member of Ellington Methodist Church and had retired as a schoolteacher after having taught grade school and special education in Ellington and Lesterville. Mrs. Shulse was a member of the Retired Teachers Association of Missouri as well as a member of the Eastern Star in Ellington. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and reading.
On Nov. 27, 1935, she was married to Eugene Clark Shulse. He preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 1980.
Survivors include her son, Jimmy Ray (Joyce) Shulse, of Poplar Bluff; four grandchildren: Gene Ray (Pam) Shulse, Julie Kay Harkey, Jim Allen (Dee) Shulse, and Krista Rayann (Shang) Shumate; seven great-grandchildren: Laura (Justin) Squires, Tyler Don Shulse, Kristen Harkey, Neely Shulse, Devin Crane, Nolan Lee Shumate and Kinsley Harper Shumate; three great-great-grandchildren: Kade Crane Luke Squires and Maxwell Squires; and several nieces and nephews.
A sister, Helen Pratt, and a brother, Howard Farren also preceded Mrs. Shulse in death.
A graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Ellington Memorial Cemetery on Hwy. 21, 5 miles south of Ellington. Her grandson, Gene Shulse will officiate.
