Harold William Boyer

July 10, 1937 — May 13, 2025

Poplar Bluff, Missouri

Harold William Boyer was made whole again by the Father at 4:41 P.M. on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, surrounded by those that loved him. Harold was born on July 10, 1937, in Holly Springs, Mississippi to Milton and Beatrice (Gray) Boyer. On May 16, 1975, he married Carol (Sylvester) Boyer. Harold and Carol loved each other for 49 years and 362 days. Together they raised six children.

Harold is survived by his wife, Carol; six children, Milton (Jo Beth) Boyer of St. Louis, Missouri, John (Tina) Boyer of Brandon, Mississippi, Suzanne (Scott) Pigmon of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Tara Spears of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Becky (Billy) Lawrence of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Michael (Shontell) of Advance, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, Kyle (Christine) Boyer of San Diego, California, Janay (John) Cyphers of Atlanta, Georgia, Matthew (Tia) Pigmon of Minot, North Dakota, Nick (Kaitlee) Pigmon of Broseley, Missouri, Ethan (Ilia) Miller of Grandin, Missouri, Zachery Lawrence of Springfield, Missouri, Abigail (Adin) Hiebsch of Ozark, Missouri, Courtney Carter of Hunter, Missouri, Molly Boyer of St. Louis, Missouri, Alexis Boyer of Advance, Missouri, and Landon Boyer of Advance, Missouri; 11 great grandchildren, Holly, Jimmy, Adeline, Hallie, Lily, Maisie, Blakelee, Remley, Kensley, Colton, and Emerson.

Harold was a proud alumni of Mississippi State University where he obtained his bachelor’s degree. He received a master’s degree in hospital administration from the Medical College of Virginia. He proudly served hospitals in Mississippi, Texas, and Missouri for nearly 3 decades. After retirement, Harold was ordained as a Baptist minister and took great delight in volunteer work with the Baptist Student Union, various Missouri Baptist Associations, and most recently in the pulpit of Center Hill Baptist Church in Harviell, Missouri.

Outside of his family there were few things he enjoyed more than fishing and Cardinals baseball. If there is not a fish fry in heaven, he is likely organizing one now.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James Earnest Boyer and Jerry Boyer; sister Bertha Marleen Boyer.
