Harold E. Fleeman, 89, of Puxico, Mo., passed away Friday, Dec. 16, 2016 at Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Harold, the only son of the late Alonzo and Elizabeth Osborne Fleeman, was born Nov. 23, 1927 in Manila, Ark. He proudly served his country as a medic in the U.S. Navy during WWII and received a WW II Victory Medal. Harold was of the Protestant faith and had experienced a recent conversion. He was a lifelong farmer as well as one of the first rice farmers in Southeast Missouri. Even though he loved farming his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On Feb. 13, 1953, he married Florence Sherrill in Hernando, Miss. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include five children: Carolyn (Vernon) Davis of Fredericktown, Robin (Ronnie) Rodgers of Advance, Mark (Tammy) Fleeman and Phillip Fleeman of Puxico and Kelly (Larry) Childress of Poplar Bluff, 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
