Harold Davis Griffin

Harold D. Griffin, 94, formerly of Poplar Bluff died Monday, January 14, 2019, at Crystal Oaks Skilled Nursing Facility.

Harold was born May 27, 1924. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Georgie Griffin; his sons: Donald (Liz) Griffin of San Antonio, Texas; Ronald (Jane) Griffin of Pevely, and Rocky (Sandy) Griffin of Imperial; a sister Mildred Skinner, eight grandchildren: Donald (Chris) Griffin, Kathleen (Tim) Connor, Tim Griffin, Kim (Dustin) Manning, Brandi (Dan) Herron, Jeff (Jenni) Griffin, Kevin (Jackie) Griffin, Mike (Erin) Griffin; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Harold was a proud World War II Veteran. After the war, he farmed, worked on the Ford assembly line, and then joined the IBEW. He worked for Soundolier for more than 30 years. In 1989, Harold and Georgie retired to Poplar Bluff where they enjoyed 26 years of country living. They enjoyed riding horses, covered wagon rides, and going to church.Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with the funeral service following at 2 p.m. The Rev. Jim Schremp will officiate. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
