Harold Glenn Spencer, 66, of Poplar Bluff passed away Saturday, Mar. 16, 2013 at his residence.
Mr. Spencer was born Aug. 17, 1946 in St. Louis, Mo. He was of the Lutheran faith, and had retired in 1997 from John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff as head cook. Mr. Spencer was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed working on cars, collecting die cast cars, traveling and fishing.
On July 11, 1970, he married Karen Krummrich, in Bonne Terre, Mo. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include 2 children, Debbie Spencer and partner, Dorthy Neeley, of Poplar Bluff, and Ruth Neal (James), of Moseley, Va.; 5 grandchildren, Nikki Wolven (Dalton), Jamie Neal, Jennifer Burkhart, Megan Neal and Darlene Burkhart; 2 great-grandchildren, Draak and Aubree Wolven; 3 sisters, Ruby Moore (Joe), of Mendota, Ill., Reba Smothers (Eldon) of Little Rock, Ark., and Rita Smith of Kansas City, Mo.; and 2 brothers, Jack Spencer and Lloyd Spencer, both of Poplar Bluff.
His parents, Marion ""Pete"" and Ila Randall Spencer preceded Mr. Spencer in death.
The visitation will from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral chapel with Rev. Jim Hoyt officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Woodlawn section of the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
