Haskell Franklin Denney, 95, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Riverways Manor in Van Buren, MO.
Mr. Haskell, the son of the late William and Inez Romine Denney, was born Jan. 13, 1924, in Poplar Bluff. He proudly served his country during WWII, where he stormed the beaches in Normandy during the Battle of the Rhine and Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of Oak Hill General Baptist Church and had retired as an auto mechanic from Vandover Motor Company.
He was married to Laura Smith in 1941. She preceded him in death in 1994. In 1997, he was married to Ada Hicks. She also preceded him in death in 2002.
Survivors include three sons, Charles (Maxine) Denney, Richard Denney and Dale (Joyce) Denney of Poplar Bluff; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Harry Denney.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, with the Rev. Billy Orr officiating.
