Hazel Lee Leroux, 83, of Marble Hill formerly of Piedmont died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009 at her residence.
Mrs. Leroux was born March 4, 1925, in Ravenden Springs, Ark., and was raised in the Doniphan, Mo. area. She was a member of the Green Forest Church of Christ in Poplar Bluff, and was a homemaker. During her earlier years Mrs. Leroux had worked as a teacher's aid and later as a secretary for her husband. She enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting, gardening, working outside and writing poems.
On Jan 1, 1943 she married James Edward Leroux in Pala Pinto, Tex. He preceded her in death on May 13, 2003.
Survivors include her daughters: Eula D. Reed and husband Reuben, of Glen Allen, Mo., Melba J. Figgins and husband Bob, of Martin, Tenn., Hazel Lavonne Randolph and husband Jim, of Weatherford, Tex., Sandra Lee McAllister and husband Frank, of Piedmont, Mo., Rhonda Kaye Wallace and husband Steve, of Louisville, Ky., and Deborah Ann Sullins and husband Jim, of Williamsville, Mo.; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents, Floyd and Nannie (McCoy) Vaughn, sisters, Peggy Huntley, and Helen Fortner, and brother Melvin Vaughn preceded her in death.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff with the funeral service following at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
