Helen Louise Becker

February 9, 1947 — February 12, 2020

Helen Louise Becker, 73, of Poplar Bluff Missouri passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at Riverways Manors in Van Buren, Missouri. A longtime resident of Missouri, Mrs. Becker passed away following a lengthy illness.

She was born February 9th, 1947 to Ruby and Howard Carriger in Galena, Kansas. Her family relocated to Poplar Bluff where Helen attended school. Helen graduated in Lead, South Dakota with her class of 1963.

On July 29, 1972, Helen married Larry Becker and would often say that Larry was the "love of her life." Together, they resided in Poplar Bluff/Dexter.

No stranger to hard work, Helen did not take long to learn the ropes of life. During this time, she worked at Holiday Inn and often in the areas of customer service. Helen was socially outgoing and a friend to anyone she met. Her passion was caring for her family, or anyone that called upon her for help. When Helen was in the room her presence was felt by most and adored by many.

During her free time, Helen enjoyed: bingo, coloring, crocheting, watching her daily stories as well as westerns, casino's and lastly her favorite, scratch offs. She loved teaching the art of crocheting to her grandkids. Helen was blessed with her grandchildren and it was this that she felt complete.

1 Thessalonians 4:17-18  - "After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the lord in the air. And so will be with the lord forever. Therefore, encourage one another with these words."

She is survived by her husband; Larry Becker, her children; Kristy Jackson and husband Brian, Missy Becker and Wendell Morgan, Scott Becker and wife Nancy, David White and Larry White. Three sisters; Janet McAllister, Velma Tuschhoff, Joyce Kokesh. Grandchildren; Drew, Cody, Adam, Logan, Brianna, Chelsea, Chip, Gracie, Jordan, Jamie, Christina, Travis, Jessy and many great grandchildren she treated as her own.

Mrs. Becker was preceded in death by her parents Howard R. and Ruby A. Dutton Carriger, her son Robert Michael Becker and  a sister Delores Hammer.
