Helen Louise Costin, 90, of New Madrid, Mo., formerly of Poplar Bluff, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014 at The Golden Living Care Center in New Madrid.
Mrs. Costin was born April 21, 1924 in Poplar Bluff to the late Thomas G. and Rachael Anna Evans Moseley. She was a member of Collins Chapel General Baptist Church and had retired as an LPN at Lucy Lee Hospital as well as John J. Pershing VA Medical Center. Mrs. Collins enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting and sewing.
On June 8, 1940, she married Carl Costin in Poplar Bluff. He preceded her in death on Sept. 7, 1998.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Jimmy Costin (Sue) of Poplar Bluff; daughter-in-law, Sandria Costin, of Sikeston, Mo.; six grandchildren: Robert Costin, Stephen Costin, Nicholas Costin, Christina Hogan, Troy Riley and John Riley; a sister, Bessie Clark, of Dothan, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.
Her sons, Jerry Ellsworth Costin and Gene Costin also preceded her in death.
Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral chapel with Pastor Billy Orr officiating. Burial will in the Woodlawn section of the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
