Helen Louise (Reed) Dodge

Helen Louise Dodge, 79, of Poplar Bluff, died Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Dodge was born Aug. 21, 1935, in Catron, Mo. to the late Robert and Edith Irene Page Reed. She was a member of New Home General Baptist Church and had retired as a sewing machine operator for Florsheim Shoe Factory. Mrs. Dodge enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and working in her yard.

On May 29, 1954, she married Richard Lee Dodge in Joliet, Ill. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Darel Vern (Joy) Dodge, of Savannah, Ga.; four grandchildren: Crystal Blue, Krystal Michelle, Jennifer and Dalton; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Alma Bernice Cotton, of Sikeston; and a brother, Norman Reed (Jackie), of Chicago.

Two sons, Harold Junior Mims (Sarah)and Danny Lee Dodge and a brother, Robert Edward Reed also preceded Mrs. Dodge in death.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Chapel with the Rev. Calvin Buhler officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
