Helen Jean Ellis

Helen Jean Ellis, 80, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away on August 24, 2025, at Mercy Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Helen was born on May 26, 1945, to Christina Ellis Nash in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Helen enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved her family fiercely and appreciated any time spent with them. Helen was known to be an outspoken and strong woman, never afraid to tell you what she was thinking. She was a wonderful cook and liked preparing food for others. She also enjoyed playing games like solitaire on the computer. Helen worked at Walmart for 26 years before retiring.

Helen is survived by her three children, Lorenzo (Carla Parks) Ellis, Pamela (Richie) Hubrins, and Kevin Ellis; fifteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; along with numerous extended family and friends.

Helen was preceded in death by her mother, Christina; daughter, Monica Benson; brother, Nathan Ellis; two sisters, Franchelle Turner and Magalene Ellis.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, September 04, 2025, at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Burial will take place at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
