Helen L. May

Helen Louise May, 85, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015, at Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. May was born September 26, 1929 in Poplar Bluff to the late Lewis and Bessie Fisher Hodapp. On November 30, 1975, she and Willis A. May were married in Miami, Oklahoma. He survives of the home.
Mrs. May was a member of New Home General Baptist Church and had retired from Montgomery Ward. She enjoyed spending time with her family and tending to her flowers.

Survivors include her children: Rick Guard (Lee), Linda Roberts and Kenny Guard all of Poplar Bluff; a sister, Eunice Croy of Poplar Bluff; five grandchildren: Scott Guard (Jennifer), Chelsey Roberts, Katelyn Roberts, Kenny Guard Jr., and Angelyne Guard; and three great-grandchildren: Tyler Guard (Nicole), Brandon Guard, and Gracie Guard.

Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Billy Sibole and a brother Dewayne Hodapp.
Visitation will be at Cotrell Funeral Service Wednesday beginning at 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO. Rev. Calvin Buhler will officiate.
