Howard Thomas Davis

Howard Thomas Davis, 72, of Poplar Bluff died Saturday, July 3, 2010 at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

Mr. Davis was born June 12, 1938 in Berlin, Maryland. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, and had retired as a supply boat Captain in the Gulf of Mexico. Mr. Davis enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and hunting.

On Aug. 21, 1981 he married Carolyn King in Burford, SC. She survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Tina Wallace of Franklin, Ark. and Tammy Heflin of St. Louis; and seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. A graveside service with full military honors will follow at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with Dr. Ronnie Webb officiating.
