Illa E. Frazier Cook

Illa E. Cook, 87, of Poplar Bluff, died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015 at Oakdale Care Center in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Cook, the daughter of the late Mart and Grace (Holt) Frazier, was born March 30, 1928 in Deslet, Mo. She was a very active member of First United Methodist Church in Poplar Bluff and had retired after many years as a supervisor with Missouri State Department of Social Services. Mrs. Cook was a member of the Red Hat Society and had been an active volunteer at the Margaret Harwell Art Museum and Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing golf, reading and traveling.

On Aug. 1, 1948, she was married to Ralph Cook in Keytesville, Mo. He preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 1983.

Survivors include four children: Ralph H. (Robin) Cook, Jr. of Mesa, Ariz., Stanley K. (Sue) Cook of Bonne Terre, Dennis L. (Sherry) Cook of Springfield and Kay (Don) Campbell of Ellsinore; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a brother, Donald Frazier of Van Buren.

Mrs. Cook was also preceded in death by a brother, James "Bud" Frazier.

The visitation will begin at noon Monday, Nov. 9th at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Chapel with Rev. David Stewart officiating. Interment will be at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
