Inez L. Surber

Inez L. Surber, 84, of Poplar Bluff, died December 20, 2008 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Surber was born September 6, 1924 in Neelyville to the late H. W. and Matilda C. (Feurs) Mittelhauser. She was a retired teacher, having taught 35 years in the Neelyville area schools. Mrs. Surber was a member of the Neelyville United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and traveling.

On June 1, 1946 she was married to Lloyd L. Surber in Corning, Ark. and he survives.

Also surviving is one daughter Letty McDowell of Poplar Bluff, four grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Surber of Jefferson City, Amy Marie Surber of St. Louis, Kelly Batchelor and husband Mike of New Boston, Tex., and Clayton Lee McDowell of Poplar Bluff; two great grandchildren, Tyler Lee McDowell and Kynzy Lynn Batchelor; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Surber was preceded in death by one son Dennis Lynn Surber in August, 2000, and one sister Lura Mae Rohlfs.

Visitation will be at 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jean Dicken officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
