Ione E. Deken

Ione Srstka Alexander Deken, 100, of Poplar Bluff, MO, went to the Lord's House, Monday, April 06, 2026, at New Hope Assisted Living.

Ione was born on July 02, 1925, to Stephen and Emma (Carda) Srstka in Tyndall, South Dakota.

In 1942 the family moved to Hawthorne, California. Ione graduated from Luezinger High School in 1943. She then went on to work at Boeing Aircraft for 24 years. While working there she met her husband, Jack Rueck, he precedes her in death. She later married Otto Alexander before relocating the family to Poplar Bluff in 1969, he also precedes her.

In the late 90's she met and married Clem Deken. They were both heavily involved with the community and church. Ione was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and St. Ann's Alter Society. She was a past member of the KC "ettes" and volunteered at Sacred Heart, the RSVPs, and at the hospital.

Ione is survived by her son, Stephen (Teresa) Rueck; stepchildren, Mary Coon, Monietta (Dale) Wilkerson, and Felix (Amy) Deken; five grandchildren, Steve Joy, Stephanie Rueck, Matt Mobley, Cheryl Dowling, and Georgia Lord; nine great grandchildren and many step grandchildren.

Ione was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Stephen and Frank Srstka; husband, Clem Deken; four stepchildren, Shirley Dodson, Steven Alexander, Jim Croft, and Darrell Deken.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 09, 2026, from 5:00-7:00pm at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 10:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
