Iven Glenwood Martin, 89, of Poplar Bluff died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center one day short of his 90th birthday.
Mr. Martin was born Dec. 22, 1923 near Garwood, Mo. He was a member and former Deacon of Twin Springs Baptist Church and was a retired timber worker. Mr. Martin was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WWII. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and working in his yard.
On June 12, 1948, he married Norma Jo Cletcher in Van Buren. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Deborah Jane Martin of Springfield, Mo. and Lisa Lynette Kayser of Poplar Bluff.
His parents, Joseph and Viola Foster Martin, sister, Zelma Carmichael and three brothers, Lawrence Martin, Floyd Martin and Carl Martin preceded Mr. Martin in death.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral chapel with Rev. Roger Mayo officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at the Van Buren City Cemetery.
