Jack Dempsey Lack. 76, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016 at his residence.
Jack, the son of the late Sam and Mable Austin Lack, was born Nov. 3, 1939 in Savannah, Tenn. He proudly served his country while in the National Guard. Jack was of the Baptist faith and had retired as a mechanical engineer. He enjoyed spending time with his family, bowling, golfing and fishing.
On May 29, 1958, he married the love of his life, Dola Jean Howell in Hernando, Miss. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Kenneth D. (Sheila) Lack and Rena Diann Lack of Poplar Bluff, Shannon Gail Lack of Clayton, N.C. and Brenton Lack of Poplar Bluff; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harry Lack of Florence, Ala. and Mike Arthur Lack of Steele, Mo.; two sisters, Bobby White of Caruthersville, Mo. and Jo Pugh of Steele, Mo.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A son, Wayland Dwayne Lack, three sisters, Geneva Poe, Carol Hornsby and Janice Gayle Lack and five brothers, Johnny Lack, Dee Lack, Sam Lack, Jr., Odis Lack, Archie Lack and Steven Lack also preceded Jack in death.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church with Dr. William Vail officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
