James E. Ferguson Sr., 84, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Monday, December 14, 2015 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Ferguson, the son of the late Lewis and Effie (Golden) Ferguson, was born March 3, 1931 in England, Ark. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. For over 20 years he worked at several Veteran's hospitals as canteen manager before retiring in 1973 then sold real estate for Ron Cummings. Mr. Ferguson also enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren, he also enjoyed camping, boating, and traveling.
On June 1, 1952, he married Betty Hagerman at England Ark. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include his children: Jamie (Dewey) Inman, James E. (Julie) Ferguson Jr., Steve (Tracy) Ferguson and Lisa (Terry) Aldridge all of Poplar Bluff; eight grandchildren: Andy, Heath, Stefanie, Zachary, Tyler, Brody, Braelin and Jacob; and four great-grandchildren: Aiden, Levi, Ally and Gabriel.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Gerald Ferguson, Virgil Ferguson and Dickie Ferguson.
The visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jim Schremp officiating. Burial will at at Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
