James (Jim) Oscar Hart, 90, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on July 28, 2025, at his home in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
James was born on July 13, 1935, to Oscar and Grethel (King) Hart in Harville, Missouri. He married Martha Louise Albright on October 6, 1961.
James and Martha owned and operated Hart Tire for nearly 33 years and were members of First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. Throughout his life he, his son, and friends enjoyed hunting out west. His friends nicknamed him "Sureshot Hart", and he loved visiting the little town of Tensleep, WY. In his retirement years he loved boating and fishing with his wife and daughter on Current River in Doniphan. Another past time was taking drives to the country where he grew up, feeding the deer, squirrels, and birds in his backyard, and family time at the Hart Pond. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
James is survived by his wife of 63 years, Martha; children, Kenneth (Terry) Hart, Elena Hart; grandchildren, Amy (Dwayne) Roberts and Mac (Brandon) Crook; eight great grandchildren; twin sisters, Mae Osment and Kay (Roger) Bridges; and one grand dog, Baxter.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Grethel; siblings, Inez Reynolds, Gene Hart, and Frank Hart; grandson, Travis; and his four-legged companion, JJ.
As James was a very private person his wishes were for close family and friends to celebrate privately. He would also greatly appreciate any donations be made to American Cancer Society or Hearts for Rescue in lieu of flowers.
