James "Jim" Arthur Carpenter, 82, of Mill Spring, MO, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, September 29, 2025.
Jim was born on July 11, 1943, to Arthur and Elza (Wilson) Carpenter in New Madrid, Missouri. He married Ruth Ann (Bowman) on July 02, 1962, also in New Madrid.
Jim was of the Baptist faith. He was a talented woodworker and created everything from pipes to Christmas ornaments and benches. Jim was a simple man and enjoyed his time riding the tractor around the farm, fishing, and gardening. He was kindhearted and enjoyed helping others. Jim always had a project or five going and liked piddling around the house in his spare time. He was a hard worker and liked to stay busy. He loved his family fiercely and will truly be missed.
Jim is survived by his two sons, Jim (Cynthia) Carpenter Jr. and Jerry (Jennifer) Carpenter; one daughter, Billie Jones; fourteen grandchildren, Josh, Jeremie, Tiffany, Mike, Tasha, Faith, Miranda, Christopher, Megan, Shandi, Zachary, Victoria, Alyssia, and Veto; twenty-two great-grandchildren, Bentley, Chelsea, Olivia, Rowan, Brandon, Alonzo, Anna, ShayLynna, Trace, JoBob, Jerrika, Jenny, Gabriel, Makenzie, Riley, Frehley, Elijah, Anastacia, Nova, Mariah, Naveah, and Johnny; great-great-grandchildren, Xavier, Parker, Paisley, Felix, and Ollie; one sister, Laura "Polly" Darnell; along with numerous extended family and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann Carpenter; six brothers, Amos, Harold "Jinx", Bob, Bill, Robert, and Ernest Carpenter; two sisters, Lilla Mae and Barbara Carpenter.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
