James “Doc” McMullen, 89, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at The Manor in Poplar Bluff.
Doc was born Jan. 27, 1928 in Butler, Mo. He was of the Protestant faith and was a retired handyman and carpenter. He enjoyed buying and reselling and taking care of his cats, chickens and goats.
Survivors include three nephews: Jerry McMullen of St. Charles, Mo., Bill McMullen and Kenneth (Sandy) McMullen of O’Fallon, Mo.; two nieces: Joyce Dixon of Warrenton, Mo. and Judy Shives of Foley, Mo.; and numerous great-nephews and great-nieces: Frankie McMullen III, Jessica Burns, Jason McMullen, Bill McMullen, II, Kristina McMullen, Katie McMullen, Brittany McMullen, Bryan McMullen, Kello Ransford, Jimmy McMullen, Tammy McMullen, Austin McMullen, Helen McMullen, Tammy Dixon, Barbie Perkins, Ernie Washburn, Carrie Washburn and Cheyenne Washburn.
His father, Jake McMullen; mother, Maudie Bell; three brothers, Theodore McMullen, Frank McMullen, Sr. and Alfred McMullen; three sisters, Cora McMullen, Genevieve McMullen and Maxine McMullen; and a nephew, Frank McMullen, Jr, predeceased Doc.
The family will have private Memorial Service at a later date.
