James Arthur Medling

April 17, 1921 — February 10, 2012

James Arthur Medling, 90, of Poplar Bluff, died February 10, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Medling was born April 17, 1921 in Fairdealing, Mo. A retired automotive mechanic at various automobile dealerships, Mr. Medling was a 62 year member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers; and was a Navy veteran having served during World War II as an aircraft mechanic and navigator. He was a member of Living Word Baptist Church, and enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, gardening, listening to music and being outdoors. He was also a member of the Poplar Bluff Masonic Lodge #209 and Past Worthy Patron of Eastern Star.

On July 17, 1944 he was married to Virginia Dunlap in Naylor. She survives.

Also surviving is one daughter, Peggy Medling Krash of St. Louis, one grandson, Paul Krash of St. Louis, one great granddaughter, Tori Krash of San Antonio, Tex., and one sister, Florence of Doniphan.

Mr. Medling was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Lucinda Florence (Hayes) Medling, two sisters, Bertha Taylor and Sally Cline, and two brothers, John Medling and Homer Medling.

Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012 at 4:00 ? 6:00 p.m. at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Living Word Baptist Church with Rev. Donny Emmons officiating. Burial will be at Kinsey Cemetery.
