James Bryant "PeeWee" Miller, 87, of Wappapello, Mo., died Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Miller was born March 13, 1928 in Honey Grove, Texas to the late John and Maggie (Neeley) Miller. He was of the Baptist faith; and had retired as a hospital dock and maintenance supervisor in Elgin, Ill. Mr. Miller enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, flea marketing, fishing and hunting.
On Oct. 14, 1949, he married Dorothy Elliott in Forrest City, Ark. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include five children: James Miller, Traci Brotherton and Patricia Hazelwood, all of Missouri and Michael Miller and Susie Jorgensen both of Illinois; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Lloyd ( Leah)Miller of Illinois; and two sisters: Dorothy Pitchford of Texas and Ruby (Charles) Adamson of Arkansas.
Two granddaughters, two sisters and two brothers also preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Wappapello. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Wappapello funeral chapel with Pastor Sam Brotherton officiating. Interment will follow at Rock Hills Cemetery off Hwy J near Puxico, MO.
