James Crisman Ramsey II, 69, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2013, in Poplar Bluff.
Mr. Ramsey was born on June 24, 1943 in Poplar Bluff, to Blan K. and Billie Marion Ramsey.
On Dec. 31, 1969, he and Cheri Oldsen were married at the Grace Methodist Church. She preceded him in death on November 3, 2012.
Prior to retirement, Mr. Ramsey had logged over 3.5 million miles as the owner-operator of an over the road truck. He had a lifelong love for NASCAR racing. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of the Poplar Bluff Masonic Lodge, #209.
He is survived by his children: Kenneth Cohen (Kelly) of Aldrich, MO, Erin Eskina of Lee's Summit, MO, and James Crisman Ramsey III of Poplar Bluff, 5 grandchildren, and a brother Marcus D. Ramsey (Marva) of Protem, MO.
A gathering of family, friends and acquaintances will begin at noon Saturday, April 20th at First United Methodist Church. There will be a Masonic Service starting at 1:00 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service with Rev. David Stewart officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be made to American Cancer Society, 4207 Lindell Blvd., Ste. 2, St. Louis, MO 63108.
