James Henry Shields II, 70, of Poplar Bluff, Mo, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at Poplar Bluff Regional Hospital.
Mr. Shields was born March 8, 1943, in Poplar Bluff to the late James Henry and Jessie Mae Wooldridge Shields.
On March 27, 1965, he married JoAnn Brannan at Poplar Bluff, she survives of the home.
Mr. Shields was a member of the National Guard for 39 years and served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a warehouse manager for Ozark Border until his retirement in August 2006. He attended Cowboy Church, enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking and gardening.
Survivors include his children; James (Jim) Henry Shields III, (Tammy Ann), Terry Alan Shields (Connie), and Tammy Jo Shields, all of Poplar Bluff; grandchildren, James Henry IV and Kendra Shields, Ruth Reddish, Angel and Vanessa Ringstaff; and a sister, Gladys Goodman.
He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Tyler Grant.
Visitation will be from 6 ? 8 p.m. Thursday, at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Brett Randall officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in Bloomfield at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery.
