James "Jim" Howard Stubblefield

James H. “Jim” Stubblefield, 87, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018 at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center.

Jim, the son of the late J.O. and Laura Stubblefield, was born May 17, 1930 in Myrtle, Mo. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy; and was a member of Three Rivers Shrine Club and Masonic Lodge 209. He was also a retired Real Estate Broker and a former Assistant Funeral Director for Cotrell Funeral Service. Most recently Jim worked with his son in a family owned business, New England Van and Trust, in Boston, Massachusetts. He enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends.

On Dec. 23, 1972, he married Norma Landers. She survives.

Other survivors include five children, Sherri Kent and Gary Stubblefield and wife Catherine of Massachusetts, Karen Adams of Poplar Bluff, Jon Stubblefield also of Massachusetts and Clyde Landers of Doniphan. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Shannon Kent and Phillip Stubblefield of Massachusetts; five great-grandchildren, Anthony Walcott, Azianna Walcott, Corsia Dunwoody, Shania Dunwoody and Titus Dunwoody all of Massachusetts; a brother Charles Stubblefield and wife Joyce; and several nieces and nephews..

In addition to his parents Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Carl Stubblefield and his sister, Imogene Todd.

A Masonic Service will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with the visitation following until 8 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Friday in the funeral chapel with Rev. Steve Patterson officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at 12 p.m. at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
