James "Jim" William Walker

James W. Walker, 93, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017 at The Manor.

Mr. Walker, the son of the late Luther A. and Anna Matilda (LaBrier) Walker, was born July 31, 1924 in Poplar Bluff. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Walker was a warehouse worker for Wiseman & Sons for many years and later retired from Municipal Utilities. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching Cardinals baseball on television.

On Feb. 27, 1946, he married Mildred Eileen Oltman in Poplar Bluff. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Karen (Steve) Winberry of Poplar Bluff; five grandchildren, Kim (Mike) Brooks, Lori (Kenny) Bullington, Doug Aud, Aaron (Leann) Winberry and Adam (Natalie) Winberry; 12 great-grandchildren, Jonathan Snyder, Katelyn Lumpkins, Justin (Elyse) Snyder, Madison Smith, Ethan Smith, Audrey Smith, Hunter Aud, Gavin Aud, Logan Winberry, Lance Winberry, Annabelle Winberry and Andrew Winberry; and three great-great grandchildren, Katherine Lumpkins, Tanner Snyder and Conner Snyder.

He was preceded in death by two daughters and their husbands, Kathy (Eddie) Aud and Kathleen “Kitty” (Donald) Weng, a brother, Burrus Walker and three sisters, Peggy Tinsley, Shirley Stone and Elizabeth Oltman.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 20th at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff with a Masonic Services following at 10:30 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Michael Pope officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
